Children's Ministry Director
(Part-Time/Full Time)
Faith Fellowship Church is prayerfully seeking a visionary, Christ-centered leader with a proven record of building, revitalizing, and developing thriving children’s ministry programs. We believe the next season of ministry is an opportunity to re-imagine, revamp, and re-ignite how we disciple children, equip families, and welcome the next generation into a growing relationship with Jesus. Position: Children's Ministry Director
Hours: This position may be structured as either part-time or full-time depending on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and availability
Schedule: Sunday mornings required (8:30 AM–12:30 PM), attendance at bi-weekly staff meetings, with flexible hours throughout the week to complete ministry responsibilities and attend occasional special events.
Pay: Commensurate with experience.
Position Summary
The Children's Ministry Director will provide vision, leadership, and strategic oversight for the revitalization and ongoing development of the children's ministry (birth through 5th grade). This leader will help shape a ministry that is spiritually meaningful, relationally welcoming, safe, engaging, and built for long-term growth. Through thoughtful assessment, intentional planning, volunteer development, and strong partnership with families, the Director will help create a ministry where children are introduced to Jesus, parents feel supported, and families are drawn more deeply into the life of the church.

Responsibilities

- Cast and implement a compelling vision for a growing and spiritually vibrant children's ministry.
- Plan and coordinate Sunday morning children's ministry activities.
- Select and prepare age-appropriate curriculum and teaching materials.
- Ensure all programs align with the mission and values of Faith Fellowship Church.
- Foster a fun, safe, and spiritually enriching environment
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support children's ministry volunteers.
- Inspire and equip volunteers to serve with confidence, joy, and a shared sense of mission.
- Ensure all volunteers comply with church child safety policies.
- Build a team culture that encourages spiritual growth, collaboration, and excellence.
Family Engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding ministry activities and events.
- Welcome and connect with new families.
- Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children.
- Help families feel seen, supported, and connected to the broader life and mission of the church.
Administration
- Maintain volunteer schedules and ministry records.
- Ensure classrooms and ministry spaces are organized, clean, and safe.
- Manage ministry supplies and curriculum resources.
- Coordinate child check-in/check-out procedures and safety practices.
Events & Special Programs
- Plan and coordinate special events such as Vacation Bible School, children's performances, outreach events, family activities, and seasonal programs.
- Collaborate with church staff and ministry leaders on church-wide events.
- Participate in and support occasional church events outside of Sunday mornings.
Qualifications
- A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with the beliefs and mission of Faith Fellowship Church.
- Passion for ministering to children and families.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with, engage, and relate well to children of various ages.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and equip volunteers.
- Degree in education, ministry, child development, or a related field a plus.
- Previous experience in children's ministry, education, childcare, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience developing, strengthening, or revitalizing a children’s ministry or related program preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and comply with child protection policies.
